Façades of The Hague #4


Apartment block with shop (now office) on the ground floor, Hooftskade. Style is reminiscent of Amsterdam School and art deco. Probably built during the Interbellum.

0108 Hooftskade

(Here with the low March sun). Window frames modernized and uglyfied. Office front – home to the local Refugee Council since the 1980’s –  of ground floor modernized and uglyfied in the 1990’s.

A small and unobtrusive monument was added then, which has vanished, but daffodils were flowering when i was there. Two front doors are still in the original decorative style.
